Repetitive corrugation and straightening effect on the microstructure, crystallographic texture and electrochemical behavior for the Al-7075 alloy

Anti-corrosion susceptibility is one of the top criteria for selecting metallic materials several industrial applications. This work studies corrosion performance on an Al-7075 alloy obtained by Repetitive Corrugation and Straightening (RCS). processing method generated a microstructure formed randomly distributed micro-, submicro-, nano- metric grain sizes. The samples exhibited drop in resistance longer duration electrolyte higher deformation. However, processed RCS showed better electrochemical stability comparison with non-deformed condition. improvement could be associated particular during process.
